Mary L. Gates

Mary Chisholm Gates was born October 3, 1935 om Savannah, Georgia. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida in her life where she met and married Sidney Gates, Jr.

Mary was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Missionary Society and Love and Goodwill Society.

Mrs. Gates was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Harold “Ricky” Aikens, Willie Lee Gates and Sidney “Flat” Gates; and daughter, Christina Gates.

Mary leaves to celebrate her memories, son, Samuel Gates (Geraldine); two daughters, Mary Ann Gates and Stella Louise Graham; grandchildren, Michael Aikens, Tamara Charles (Wiltron), Rogers Elmore (Casandra), Quatialis “Tia” Monroe (Oliver); Lalita Wright (William), Sammie Gates Jr. (Elizabeth), Rocky Gates, Ricky Gates, Tandra Ragland (Quenton), Starza Williams, Sheri Williams, Michael Foster (Melissa), Charles Gates, Marcus McNair (Kenna), Dorian Graham, Mark Gates, Heleaince Gates, Michael Gates, Tameika Mays and Jamail Aikens; special nieces and nephew, Mae Eva Johnson, Flemming and Cora Albertie; caregivers, Shirley Jordan, Wanda Samuels, Earl Samuels, and Beverly Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and friends.
