Ms. Maxine Loretta Murray was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 4, 1947, to the late Rutha Mae Murray Robinson and Garifield Robinson. She was educated in Duval County.
Maxine relocated to Brooklyn, New York in 1959 and there she continued her education until she obtained her CNA License. She worked in the Medical Field for over twenty years.
Maxine returned to Jacksonville, Florida where she continued her career as a CAN. She attended First Timothy Baptist Church for several years. She was very crafty and creative. Maxine was an excellent seamstress and could assemble almost anything without any instructions. She enjoyed music and dancing leaving behind wonderful memories.
Maxine Loretta Murray quietly laid her crown at the Lord’s feet on Sunday, February 15, 2026. She was preceded in death by her son, Fred Murray; mother, Rutha Mae Murray Robinson; brother, Larry Murray; and aunt, Mary J. Curtis.
Maxine leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Zandra Murray-Woodbury (John); son, Timothy Murray (Alissia); grandchildren, Tyquan Woodbury, Fredrenna Woodburry, and Barsheem Murray; four great grandchildren; a loving and devoted aunt, Mabel Kimble; and a host of cousins and caring friends.
