Melvin Oliver Dallas

Mr. Melvin Oliver Dallas, the oldest son was born on October 17, 1944 to Carl Dallas and Maxine Dallas in Jacksonville, Florida.

Born in a devout and Christian home, he learned early in life the personal path of duty and followed it with unselfishness and dedication. Melvin Dallas attended public schools in Duval county. He was employed with CSX Transportation for 30 years until his retirement.

On Thursday, April 15, 2021 Melvin departed this life for eternal peace. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tansy Dallas.

He leaves to cherish his memory loving daughters, Bolsey “Liz” Dallas and Cornelia Dallas-Jones (Deshawn); grandchildren, Laura Dallas, Tatiana Hernandez, Deshawni Jones, Sanaa’ Hernandez and Dallas Jones; great grandchild, Rodney Poitier, IV; siblings, Charles Dallas (Shirley) and Dorian Dallas; in-laws, Violet Parrish (Lewis) and Charlene Taylor-Hill; godsisters, Deborah Limbric-Rasheed (Faheem) and Janice Cooper-Watts; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, god children, loving relatives and friends.
