Michele McCrary-McGrady Obituary

Michele Elaine McCrary McGrady was the first child born to Brenda Elaine Howard McCrary and Ahiyah Israel (Gregory Leighton McCrary, Michelle) on January 4, 1973.  Michele entered into eternal rest on February 5, 2021.

Michele accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. As a child she grew up in Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, where she was baptized by Rev. Richard L. Jackson.  She attended Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church and recently reunited with Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.

She attended the local schools of Duval County Florida and received her high school diploma from Andrew Jackson High School.  Michele received a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Communication and Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix.

Michele believed family and consistent friends were important. Having a real friend, she often said “was a gift from God.” She would never abandon you, especially when you needed her the most. She was the type of friend who would sit by your side and hold your hand while the rest of the world walked out on you. She loved to read, exercise and spend time with family and friends. Michele was a loving and devoted mother to her three children.

Michele was employed at Flagstar Bank and Jared Jewelers. She was preceded in death by her son, Darius Thompson and husband, Willis McGrady.

Michele leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Ashja Thompson and Taryn Thompson; granddaughter, Jordyn Amari Renee; mother, Brenda Howard Outlaw; father, Ahiyah Israel (Gregory McCrary, Michelle); father by choice, Henry Coleman; grandmother, Rosie Coleman; brothers, Kevin Coleman (Anna), Jaret Coleman, DeAngelo Parker and Sir William Alexander; sisters, Shantell Grant, Latoya McCrary, Yasmene McCrary Jackson, Alexis Brown, and Tammy Rush; aunts, Marcia G.
