Minnie Lee Walker, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully slept away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 67. Born on December 7, 1957, in Jacksonville, she was the cherished daughter of Luther Holden, Sr. and Minnie Mae Holden.
Minnie’s vibrant spirit and unwavering love for her family defined her life. She was preceded in death by her devoted parents, her beloved spouse, Ernest Lavern Walker; siblings, Joyce Mincey, Rosetta Bryd, and Marie McClendon; and her cherished son-in-law, John “Johnboy” Williams, Sr. Their memories remain forever etched in the hearts of all who knew them.
Minnie leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Latrese Inez Walker (Fred), Monica Parham (Jason), and Tumeca Givens (Richard). She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren, Nykerria Kibler (Ryan), Jah-Neisha Williams, Jah-Michael Wright, Jason Parham Jr. (Kelly), John Williams Jr., Tiani Holman, Ta’Layah Holman, Jaiyana Parham, Jahnyla Parham, and Taylor Givens. Her heart swelled with joy as she embraced her great-grandchildren, Joy Emile, Alaia Bailey, Kai-Michael Wright, Josiah Parham, and Delilah Parham.
Minnie’s family extended beyond direct descendants. She is survived by her siblings, Willie Holden (Linda) and Luther Holden Jr. (Mary), as well as a wealth of special nieces and nephews, including Melissa Knight, Corlissa Mayfield, Drexter Pyant, and Domeniqui Pyant. She also shared a close bond with her in-laws, Arthur Walker (Elizabeth), Barbara Walker (Oscar), and Benijamin Walker. Minnie had a unique connection with special names such as Christie, Sharon, Gigi, and Angela Lee, signifying the love she cultivated in her relationships throughout her life.
A devoted member of the New Community Baptist Church in Atlantic Beach, Florida, Minnie found solace and strength within her faith. Her commitment to her community was evident in her work, having dedicated her professional life to Pine Castle, Inc., and running Minnie’s Day Care, where she nurtured countless children and families.
Minnie had a flair for interior decorating, a passion for puzzles, and an affinity for shopping, which brought her joy and creativity. Her laughter, warmth, and kindness created a welcoming environment for all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Minnie’s journey through life was characterized by her love for family, her community spirit, and her unshakeable faith. She leaves behind a host of loving family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
As we celebrate the life of Minnie Lee Walker, let us remember her vibrant spirit, her nurturing heart, and the love she so generously shared with those around her. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends, reminding us all of the importance of love, faith, and community. Rest in peace, dear Minnie; your light will forever shine in our hearts.
