Monique Lyrell Jordan entered this world with her twin on May 29, 1983, born to parents Carlton Jordan and Veronica Jordan. Monique was a product of the Duval County School system and attended First Coast High School (where she was affectionately called "Mo Jo"). She graduated from Nathan B. Forrest High School, Class of 2001.
Following her high school journey, she attended Tallahassee Community College to further her education. Shortly after, Monique began her professional career with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, where she remained committed to public service for twenty-three years until her untimely death on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
Monique was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Ruth Napier, Homer and Lola Jordan; uncle, Eugene Jordan; and aunt, Ruby Jordan. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength through her only daughter, Jewel Dominique Jordan, who is a mirror image of her mother. She is survived by her loving parents, Carlton Jordan (Vonda) and Veronica Jordan. Monique also leaves behind two brothers, Travis Jordan and Dominique Jordan. Monique was also blessed with a bonus brother, Michael Jordan (Meagan), and a sister, Margaret Jordan. She is remembered by eight devoted aunts, including, Cassandra Colon (Uncle Jimmy), Lucy Coley (Uncle Twyman), Shenita Johnson (Uncle Granzy), Barbara Stanberry (Uncle John), Mary Fisher (Uncle Johnny), and Anita Jordan.
Monique memory is further cherished by two nieces, Juliana and Reyna; two uncles, Howard Capers and Homer Jordan; and a host of loving cousins, including Janice (Charles), Larry Jr. (Tina), Tenisha, Jay, Danielle, Twyman Jr., Granzy Jr., Alonzo, and Ben. Monique is also survived by a large extended family in Cordele, Georgia, many friends, and dedicated colleagues from the Department of Environmental Protection. (Honorable Mention: Angel, Carla, Mi Mi, Kee-Kee, Crystal, Tonya and Dante).
