Early Life and Family Foundation

Mother Evangelist Huldah Elizabeth “Liz” Ivey Dozier Shaw was born on June 27, 1935, in Jacksonville, Florida, to her loving parents, Joseph and Francina Taylor Ivey. She was the youngest daughter and the second youngest child in a vibrant family of seven siblings. Raised in a household filled with faith and love, she shared her childhood with her six siblings: Gloria Jolita Ivey, Charles Waymon Ivey, William Gilbert Ivey, Anna Deborah Ivey, Mae Frances Ivey and Frank Benjamin Ivey. The family was also deeply blessed by the unwavering care, wisdom, and strength of their maternal grandmother, Susan Frai Taylor Coleman. Mother Huldah Shaw passed this life on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at HCA Orange Park Hospital, Orange Park, Florida.  Forty or so days prior to that, she was in Middleburg Rehabilitation Center in Middleburg, Florida.   

Educational Milestones

Mother Shaw was a proud product of the Florida public education system. She attended Duval County schools and graduated from the historic New Stanton Senior High School as a member of the Class of 1953. Driven by a passion for service and learning, she pursued higher education and earned a Degree in Education from Edward Waters College (now Edward Waters University) in Jacksonville, Florida. Her career expanded over 40 years in the Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) in Elementary and Special Education and the last school she worked at was Sabel Palms Elementary School where she was very well known, loved and respected. 

Family Journey

Evangelist Shaw, after the death of her first husband, Hershley Dozier and Deacon Shaw first wife, they met, married and became a beautiful, blended family with her six children, Lolita Johnson, Ronnie Dozier, Patricia Springer, Henry “Pokey ”Dozier, Willie Dozier and Anna Moon and Deacon Shaw’s only son, Marvin Shaw, Jr. over 53 years ago. They took great care of and provided for all of their children. They often took them fishing, crabbing, to the beach, Saturday barbeque gatherings and for long Sunday drives for ice cream after church and dinner. Along with her husband, Deacon Marvin Shaw, they allowed Shiloh Apostolic Holiness Church #2 aka Shiloh Tabernacle of Praise to have church in their home to start Shiloh #2, under the direction of Bishop Timothy and First Lady Patricia Springer, their daughter and son-in-law. 

First Right

Mother Evangelist Shaw, with the loving guidance and support of her son, Bishop Dr. Ron Dozier, D.D., fulfilled her spiritual academic goals. She successfully earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from Emmanuel Bible College in Georgia, cementing her legacy as a student of the Word and a powerful vessel for the Gospel. Guided by a profound divine calling, Mother Shaw dedicated her life to the ministry, earning the esteemed title of Mother Evangelist H. Shaw, who was a mother to many and the Shiloh Church Mother. After getting baptized in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, she received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost at Shiloh Apostolic Holiness Church in Jacksonville, NC, in 1979, according to the scripture in Acts 2:38 (KJV). 

Mother Evangelist Shaw was of the mindset that whatever her hands find to do, or whatever ideas the Lord put in her mind and heart she would always strive to bring it about serving God and His people, she therefore spearheaded and supervised many departments and supported many committees at Shiloh Tabernacle of Praise Church including but not limited to, President of Usher Board, Member of Voices of Shiloh Choir, Kitchen Supervisor, Altar Worker, and she  started and Supervised the Mother’s Board. She was the 1st Advisor to Shiloh Women Of Praise (SWOP) Women’s Department, President of the Missionary Department and would lead her team in baking pies in her kitchen, selling them to family members and close friends for donations to the Missionary Department. Mother Shaw wrote, published and distributed the poems that she wrote freely to the public sharing the Word of God to all she came in contact with. She was a remarkable mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great-grandmother, Evangelist, sister, aunt, niece and cousin. Mother Shaw was well loved and will truly be missed!

Evangelist Huldah Shaw was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Marvin Shaw; her parents, Joseph and Francina Ivey; her son, Bishop Dr. Ron Dozier (Eugenia); granddaughters, Regina Ann  Moon and Helena Fryer; mother, Francina Ivey; grandmother, Susan Frai Coleman; all of her sisters and brothers, some of her nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mother Shaw leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Missionary Lolita Johnson, Evangelist Patricia Springer (Bishop Timothy), Henry “Pokey” Dozier, Willie Dozier (Drucilla) and Anna Moon; her  grandchildren, Eric Ivey, Tonisha Jackson, Gerald Moon, Jr. (Sheria), Maria Johnson (Septien, Sr. ), Naomi Moon, Aaron Moon, Michael Lathan, Brandon Terry, Blair Terry, Shannon Dozier, Ronnie Dozier, Jr. (Tiffany), Rakita Drummond (Adonnis), Zoe, Zina Nelson (Douglas), Rolanda Petty and Urian Beckwith; twenty-nine great grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren and a host of very special nephews, nieces, cousins, god-children, best friend for over 40 years, Ms. Decatur, church best friend, Mother Kilpatrick and other special relatives and sorrowing dear friends. Mother Shaw was well loved and will truly be missed!
