Mother Helen Lampkin Obituary

Mother Helen Mae Lampkin was born on February 14, 1929 to Charlie and Dorothy Harris in Sanford, Florida. After leaving Sanford she met and married Eulee Lampkin in Jacksonville, Florida on June 29, 1945. She received her early education in Sanford and graduated from Standon High School in Sanford, Florida.

After living in Jacksonville, Florida for many of years, Helen moved to Long Island, New York where she was employed by Suffolk Developmental Center for many years. She had a serious injury and had to move back in Jacksonville around 1984 and has been residing in Jacksonville ever since.

In 1998 Helen joined Gospel Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Lewis D. Vereen. She worked on the Mother’s Board and many other auxiliaries. She also was involved in many communities work where she received numerous awards for her dedicated service.

When Mother Lampkin could no longer care for herself, she moved with her twin daughters in 2012. She was loved and cared for until her passing.
