Mother Pearl Simmons Major, was born on September 1, 1926 to Jenkinson and Beulah Simmons in Lanes, South Carolina. She received her GED from Forest Park School.
Pearl was united in Holy Matrimony to the late John W. Major on December 5, 1942. She worked for various families as a household technician from 1956 until her health declined in the early 2000’s. She was a member of Faust Temple Church of God in Christ. She loved to travel, she loved to go to the beach and she loved her choir.
Mother Pearl Simmons Major peacefully slept away into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Major; and her siblings, Abraham, Frazier, Jannie, Cicero, Caddie (BKA Sadie), Luther and Joe.
Pearl leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Sam, Jimmie (Cheryl), Raymond (Darleen), Lamar, Larry and Sherrian; grandchildren, Tanya, Jimmie, Lamar, Symaria, Shannon, Janaye, Knija, Laila, Deborah and Brenda; nine great grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
