Pearl Wolfe was born in Hardeeville, South Carolina on February 15, 1931, to Priscilla Gibbson and Goerge Jefferson. She was an only child. She attended the local schools in Savannah, Georgia and was Homecoming Queen.
Pearl moved from Savannah to New York in 1950 where she attended Farley University Business College. She became an entrepreneur in Real Estate.
Pearl joined New Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was a member more than fifty years where Pastor Carl Washington served as pastor. She served faithfully in various ministries: pulpit aide, church clerk, WM A Campbell Ministry, The Treasurer, Satchell Ministry, and the President of Hospitality Ministry. She went to God’s House of Worship for a moment under the leadership of Pastor Michael Howliet. Then she joined Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in July of 2017 under the leadership of Pastor Brian Campbell. She served in the Deaconess Ministry and Sunday School until her health failed.
Pearl was an avid traveler around the world including Hawaii, Alaska, China, Etophia, France, Rome, and Jerusalem where she was baptized in the Jordon’s River, and she also enjoyed many cruises.
Pearl always had a smile and a warm greeting. On Monday, March 30, 2026, she departed this home to rest with Jesus. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; son, Eugene; and grandson, David.
Pearl leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Edgar Bashaire; grandchildren, Edgar Harris (Slim), Rashad Bashaire (Nicole), Marie Harris (Sean), Courtney Morales, Jamie, Stephan Lewis and Kendall; great-grandchildren, Salah, Elijah, Corey, Alani, Tyler, Sherrie, and Senoa; special niece, Robin Robinson; mother, Earlene Cody; three adopted sons, Kenneth Wright, Tony Morrow and Mike Figuero; two adopted daughters, Pamela Reis and Pamela Ingram; special friends, David Stuall and Family, Mt. Zion Family and John Black; special cousins, Rosa Lee Midgett, Henry Hudson; JMBC Family, Linda Hadley, Doris Gregg, Dexter Wilson; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
Special remembrance of the Westchester family, she was affectionally known as “Ma Pearl”. She was loved and cherished and loved by them.
