December 6, 1954 ~ December 4, 2021 (age 66) 66 Years Old

Nicolas Rodriguez, Sr. Obituary

Retired Navy Chief Petty Officer, Nicolas Rodriguez entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 4, 2021, in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by his children and adoring family.

Born on December 6, 1954, in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, Nicolas, the son of Aurelia Rodriguez (Plaza) and the late Juan Del Carmen Rodriguez, moved to Waterbury, CT at the age 5. One of 18 children, Nicolas enlisted into the United States Navy in 1974 where he served honorably for 20 years receiving numerous medals and awards. Once retired from the Navy, he put his love and knowledge of the sea to practice and started his own business, Nick’s Marine Services.

For those fortunate enough to have met Nicolas you knew he had a commanding presence and generous spirit. He left a lasting impact and will be remembered for being a hard worker, an excellent cook, and lending a helping hand to those who needed it. 

The legacy of memories will continue to live on by his children, Nicolas Jr. (Joel), Alexander (Denise), Michelle (Robert), Jose, Jacqueline, Joshua (Katie), Jazmine (Justin), Nickera, and Nathan. Additionally, he leaves behind his beloved mother, Aurelia Rodriguez; his siblings, Milagros (Moncho), Luz, Pedro (Migdalia), Blanca (Miguel), Norma, Sonia (Eric), Basilio (Lydia), Noberto (Mildred), Zoraida (Efrain), Lydia (Gilbert), Sandra, Ida (Paul), Janet (Mark), Maribel (Marcial), and Marisol; his grandchildren, Nico, Alexus, Diosa, Gabriel, Princesa, Katlin, Jada, Caleb, Nicholas, and Jalen. Also left to mourn his memories he leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his longtime friend, Terry Lee, as well as the mothers of his children. He was preceded in death by his most cherished father, Juan; sisters, Beridiana and Carmen Maria; and brother-in-law, Manuel.

 

En Memoria Amorosa de Nicolás Rodríguez

El Chief Petty Officer retirado de la Marina, Nicolás Rodríguez, entró en el descanso eterno el 4 de Diciembre de 2021 en Jacksonville, Florida, rodeado de sus hijos y su adorada familia.

Nacido el 6 de Diciembre de 1954 en Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, Nicolás, hijo de Aurelia Rodríguez (Plaza) y el difunto Juan Del Carmen Rodríguez, se mudó a Waterbury, CT a la edad de 5 años. Uno de 18 hijos, Nicolás se enlistó en el Marina de los Estados Unidos en 1974 donde sirvió honorablemente durante 20 años recibiendo numerosas medallas y premios. Cuando se retiró de la Marina, puso en práctica su amor y conocimiento del mar comenzando su propio negocio, Nick’s Marine Services.

Para aquellos afortunados de haber conocido a Nicolas, sabían que tenía una presencia imponente y un espíritu generoso. Dejó un impacto duradero y será recordado por ser un gran trabajador, un excelente cocinero y por ayudar a quienes lo necesitaban. 

El legado de recuerdos seguirá vivo por sus hijos Nicolas Jr. (Joel), Alexander (Denise), Michelle (Robert), Jose, Jacqueline, Joshua (Katie), Jazmine (Justin), Nickera y Nathan. Además, deja atrás a su querida madre, Aurelia Rodríguez, sus hermanos: Milagros (Moncho), Luz, Pedro (Migdalia), Blanca (Miguel), Norma, Sonia (Eric), Basilio (Lydia), Noberto (Mildred), Zoraida. (Efraín), Lydia (Gilbert), Sandra, Ida (Paul), Janet (Mark), Maribel (Marcial) y Marisol; sus nietos: Nico, Alexus, Diosa, Gabriel, Princesa, Katlin, Jada, Caleb, Nicholas y Jalen. También lamentando la pérdida, deja atrás numerosas tías, tíos, sobrinas, sobrinos, primos y su viejo amigo Terry Lee, así como las madres de sus hijos. Le precedieron en la muerte su padre más querido, Juan, y sus hermanas, Beridiana y Carmen María, y su cuñado, Manuel.
