Norma Christopher Obituary

Mrs. Norma Patricia Christopher was born to the late Joseph George Gonsalves and Marjorie Esmee’ Gocool Gonsalves on May 21, 1945 in Georgetown, Guyana. She attended St. Georges Anglican School.

Norma was united in holy matrimony to Samuel Thomas Christopher, Sr. on June 19, 1972 and moved to Jacksonville, Florida to join her husband and unite her growing family. She was a devoted housewife and mother of four. She was the caregiver to two of her grandchildren and babysitter to many. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, watching television and the company of family and friends.

On Tuesday, January 21, Norma slept away peacefully. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Samuel Thomas Christopher, Sr.; her parents Joseph George Gonsalves and Marjorie Esmee’ Gocool Gonsalves; brothers, Leon Gonsalves and Harold Persaud; sister, Thelma Christopher; and in-laws Charles Christopher, Nolda Gonsalves, Yvonne Persaud, Marion Austin (Abe), Evelyn Mincey (Joseph), Bernard Thomas and Marvin Christopher.

Leaving to cherish her memories are her children, Kirk Caupain, Sr. (Irene), Clarence Caupain, Jr. (Vera), Samuel Christopher, Jr. (Ida), and Ankeishlawn Brown (Maurice); grandchildren, Iris Woods (Leroy), Kirkteasher Robinson (Mario), Simone Saxton (James), Kirk Caupain, Jr., Latoya Hammond (Terrell), Phyderial Bryant, Clarniece Caupain, Chylanda Caupain, Clarence Caupain III, Demetrius Caupain, Samuel Christopher III, Yahnessa Christopher, Domenic Mundy, Maurice Brown, Maurissa Brown, Daunjanae Brown, Maurice Brown Jr.; her siblings, Cecil Thomas (Jennie), Richard Gonsalves (Diane) and Rita Grant; in-laws, Marva Andrews (Billy), Claudette Christopher, Deborah Thomas, Earl Christopher (Gloria), Emory Christopher (Doris) and Spencer Christopher; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
