Pastor Angel Thomas was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on February 1, 1980, to Superintendent Dr. Willie Chambliss, II and Minister Sabrenna Chambliss.
Pastor Angel fulfilled the legacy of passionate ministry passed down from her aunt, Dr. Mary Austin Jones, and other ministers in her family. She served as an accomplished musician, a gifted singer, a music teacher, and a songwriter.
She was the owner and operator of Voices of Angels, a privately held voice and piano lesson company. Pastor Angel was blessed to be united in Holy Matrimony to the late Overseer B. L. Thomas for twenty-one years. Later in life, Pastor Angel attended theology school and received her bachelor’s degree.
When Beacon of Life Empowerment Center was birthed in 2010 Pastor Angel served alongside her husband as the Executive Pastor. Throughout her years of ministry, Senior Pastor Angel has served as an evangelical speaker delivering messages that inspired, encouraged, and brought effective change in the lives of those who embraced the word of God. From 2024 forward, she carried out the vision as the Senior Pastor until the very end.
Pastor Angel answered her call home on Monday, March 23, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband, Overseer B. L. Thomas, Jr., and her grandparents.
Pastor Angel leaves to cherish her memories, her father, Superintendent Dr. Willie Chambliss, III (Brenda); her mother, Minister Sabrenna Chambliss; her siblings, Williesha Chambliss, Tamara Mattis (Lindsay), and Willie Chambliss, IV (Shawndreika); her mother-in-law, Pastor Diane Thomas Lockley (Fredrick); and a host of aunts, uncles, in-laws, cousins, friends, her Seacoast Christian Academy Students and Staff, her spiritual sons, daughters, as well as her Beacon of Light Empowerment Center and New Life/Refuge Center Family.
