Patricia Ann Brown Martin was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Edith Napoleon Brown and Benjamin F. Brown, Sr. She was the youngest girl of thirteen children. Patricia attended Pine Forrest Elementary, Douglas Anderson Middle School and Wolfson High School.
As a young woman Patricia gave her life to Christ at Mount Zion African Melodist Episcopal Church (Southside) where she lived a full and vibrant life of love and spirituality.
On June 8, 1985, Patricia married Oliver Martin in that same church there in the presence of friends and family. She loved her neighborhood and community. She was a proud member of Bethany Chapter #198 / White Rose Chapter #149 Order of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall.
Patricia worked for Blue Cross and Blue Sheild for most of her life in Florida and Rhode Island. Her hobbies were sewing, pottery, netting and cooking.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her siblings, Beryl Napoleon, Hugh Donald Robinson, Bennie Byard, Benjamin F. Brown, Jr., Frances Brown Chisolm, Adrian Brown Hargrove, Pamela Brown Lewis and Michael Kent Brown.
Patricia Ann Brown Martin was called home to sit with the creator on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in her hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. She is survived by her husband, Oliver Martin; three children, Stephan Martin, Trevor Martin and Shelby Martin; grandchildren, Hugh Martin and Olivia Martin; siblings, Maxine Brown, Thelma Brown, Ira Brown, Deborah Brown Neal (Alfonzo) and Flesica Dawson Lloyd; and a host of many-many special nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren.
