Paul Hughes, Jr.

Paul Hughes, Jr. was born on February 10, 1958 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Paul Hughes, Sr. and Ruth A. Willingham Hughes. He attended the local school of Duval County including Matthew W. Gilbert High School.

Paul worked as an Asphalt Construction Worker for many of years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and dominos. He met and married his wife of 33 years, Mary Deloris Smith and from this union one daughter was born, Pauline Hughes.

Paul quietly made his eternal transition on Friday, May 8, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruth Hughes; and daughter, Pauline Hughes. He was known for his kindness and generosity and will be deeply missed.

Paul will forever be cherished by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Mary Hughes; brother, Carl Hughes; sisters, Barbara Kilpatrick, Maria Harris and Derrick Hughes; two brothers-in-law, Willie L. Smith and Beville J. Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives and many sorrowing friends whom he loved dearly.
