Raymond Joseph Mitchell, Jr.

Raymond Joseph Mitchell, Jr. was born on July 16, 1944 to Raymond Joseph Mitchell, Sr. and Josphine Mitchell in Beaufort, South Carolina.

Raymond well known as Moose or Slick entered Holy Matrimony to Prudence L. King (deceased) in 1966. He loved his career as local fisherman in Mayport, Florida for many years. He served as a faithful member to St. Paul AME then later to The Revival Center Church in Atlantic Beach, Florida until time of passing.

Raymond enjoyed fishing, spending time with grandchildren, visiting relatives and attending Church. He really enjoyed Edy’s ice cream and Pecan Sandie cookies/

Raymond earned his wings Sunday, June 12, 2022. He was preceded in death by wife, Prudence L. Mitchell; father and mother, Raymond J. Mitchell Sr. and Josphine Mitchell; granddaughter, Serina T. Mitchell; sister, Mary Williams; stepmother, Mary Mitchell; and son-in-law, Freddie Griffin.

Raymond leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter, Vickie Griffin (Erik); son, Raymond J. (Joanna) Mitchell, III (Joanna); grandsons, Eric Mitchell (Marcus), Freddie B. Griffin, Raymond J. Mitchell, IIII, Armani Mitchell and Elijah Walker; granddaughters, Kiara Prestia and Winter Mitchell; great granddaughters, Jakayla Griffin, Janiyah Griffin and Blake Mitchell; son-in-law, Stanley Clark; sisters, Linda Harwel (David) and Barbara Ann Harris; brother, John Wayne Mitchell; brothers-in-Law, Donald King, Andy King, Alvin Thomas and  Otis Thomas; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Kirksey (Fred) and Cecelia Glover (Alexander); special niece, Marilyn Craig; special friends, David Baskin and Paul Roland(Jeep); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends
