Reverend Kenneth Emmanuel Pernell was born on May 7th, 1961 in Jacksonville, Florida. Rev. Pernell was born the 7th child to Thomas and Susie Smallwood-Pernell. He attended Duval County Public Schools and graduated from New Stanton High School in 1979. Rev. Pernell was wed to his wife, Morgan Wynn on December 4th, 2018.

Reverend Pernell loved buses and spent most of his working career in the transportation industry eventually becoming the owner & operator of, Pernell Transportation. Post College Rev. Pernell furthered his ministerial studies under Pastor Rev. Larry C. Brown and attended Renewed Life Ministries of Jacksonville, FL. He would go on to be Pastor for many churches in the North Florida area. Rev. Pernell was an active minister of New Colossians Missionary Baptist Church of Jacksonville, FL under the leadership of Pastor Ambrose Merkinson. A selfless man over the years Rev. Pernell was a servant to many people and touched many lives.

Reverend Kenneth Emmanuel Pernell departed this life on Wednesday, May 27th, 2020 at 8:34pm. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Thomas and Susie Pernell; and two of his brothers, Henry Smallwood and Roscoe Smallwood all of Jacksonville, FL.

Reverend Pernell leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Morgan Wynn; daughter, Jeanette Pernell; two sisters, Willa Jones-Norris (Terry) and Linda Pernell of Jacksonville, FL; four brothers, Benjamin Smallwood (Mary) of Thomasville, GA, Daniel Smallwood (Gwendolyn) of Boston, GA, Calvin Smallwood (Benita) of Jacksonville, FL, and Thomas Smallwood (Gladys) of Vineland, NJ; one god sister, Mary Goines; six godchildren, Angel Jackson, Lavoris Henry, Lashard Henry, Michael Brunson, Jr., Marcus Brunson, Lashawnda Wise, and Mia Span; a lifelong best friend, Dr. Nathan Perry. Rev. Pernell also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and sorrowing friends.
