In God's infinite wisdom, love and understanding he quietly called Richard Johnson, Jr. to eternally rest with him on Thursday, July 23, 2020.
Richard was born in Hahira, Georgia to Richard Johnson, Sr. and Minnie Waters. He attended public schools in Duval County. He graduated from Douglas Anderson High School. He was active with Jacksonville Beach Preservation Committee and Douglas Anderson Alumni Association.
Richard was joined together in Holy Matrimony to his lovely and faithful wife, Flossie Gattis on September 5, 1963. He was a beacon of life for his parents, wife, children, siblings, neighbors, and all that knew him.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Minnie Johnson; sister, Mary Brown; and brother, Sammy Isom.
Richard leaves to cherish many precious memories, his loving wife, Flossie Johnson; children, Richard Johnson, III (Theora), Annette Kennerly (Kevin) and Carmen Martin (Terrence); grandchildren, David Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Jonas Martin and Noah Martin; sister, Minnie Griffin (Milton), Gloria Dillard (Homer), Cynthia Johnson and Linda Powell (Charles); brother, Tony Pickett; aunt, Evelyn Roundtree; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
