Robert Bingham, Sr. Obituary

Robert Truman Bingham, Sr. was born on September 12, 1945 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to the late Theodore Roosevelt Bingham and the late Amanda Leroy Bingham. He is the second oldest of five children. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School.

Robert served in the United States Navy and on July 25, 1961, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served in the 208th Signal Company in Fort Lewis Washington. In 1965, he served in the Vietnam War. He retired from the United States Army on September 16, 1966 and was recommended for the good conduct medal.

At an early age, Robert T. Bingham, Sr. aka “Black Jack”, found his passion for driving and began driving Semi Trucks. He was a dedicated Truck driver for 45 years and worked with various Trucking Companies; Silver Eagle, Raven and Jerri-lyn Trucking of Lyons Georgia. On December 15, 2015, he retired from his passion and began enjoying his life.

As a child, he was always fascinated with trucks and cars. He enjoyed singing to his wife, watching television, researching the internet, telling jokes, and traveling. One of his favorite past times during retirement was yard work, riding the lawnmower. He loved seeking new adventures with his wife. Spending time with his friends and family would bring a keen smile to his face. He would not allow his loved ones to leave his presence without a word of encouragement or kind gesture.

On November 20, 2020, he made his eternal transition. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Jean Bingham; his brother, Theodore Roosevelt Bingham, Jr.; and his son, Robert T. Bingham, Jr.

He leaves to mourn his devoted wife of 27 years, Rhonda Gail Bingham; nine children, Michelle (Robert T. Bingham, Jr.), Carlos R.
