Robert transitioned from this life on August 4, 2020. Robert Lee Jones was born on July 7, 1961, in Jacksonville, FL to the late Robert Lee Jones and Fredericker Rice. Milton Rice, Sr. was an instrumental and inspirational father to Robert. He was a graduate of Jean Ribault Senior High School class of 1979 and he attended Daytona State College.
In his earlier life he served as a member of the United States Armed Services. Robert was employed by a number of local electrical companies before starting his own business, Robert Home Improvement LLC. He was an electrician who helped so many.
Pop as he was affectionately known was hardworking, and a lover of black history. He was proud to announce he started working at the age of 12 for Redcaps. He made sure we got our daily dose of black history through his informative Facebook post. He embraced his faith in GOD at an early age. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Robert carried a special place in his heart for Lavette Jones. He also loved spending time with her and her family.
Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Millette Rice; and his cousin and best friend, Bobby Reeves Jr. (Poo-Poo).
Pop leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Fredericker Rice; his father, Milton Rice, Sr.; sister, Valencia Jean-Pierre; brothers, Milton Rice, Jr., Antonio Rice (Tantrell), and Jabbard Rice; a devoted nephew, Larry Floyd; aunts, Barbara Sanders (Freddie), Mary Brown, Georgia White, and Loretta Jenkins; uncle, Bernard Elliott; special cousins, Denise Carter, Valerie Rosco, Tonia Brown, and Kenya Reeves; former wife, Lavette Jones; and stepchildren, Sade Williams and Clarence Williams; grandchildren, Dred Willis, Tre Willis, Tytiona Willis, and Capone Willis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and many that loved him dearly.
