Robert Watson Obituary

Robert Joseph Watson entered this life on June 27, 1953 the oldest son of Samual Watson (US Navy Veteran) and Willie Mae Watson (Beautician). Robert attended Duval public schools graduating from Samuel W. Wolfson High school in 1971.

After graduating Robert joined the United States Navy. BMC Robert J. Watson served the military faithfully for over twenty years. After retiring from the Navy, Robert drove trucks for J.B Hunt for sixteen years, and retired again.

Robert had a love for Jazz, attending concerts in Rehoboth Beach, going to a small Jazz club in New York and attending the Jazz Legacy concerts in Norfolk, Virginia that benefited and preserved the Art of Jazz.

When traveling was no longer possible, Robert loved talking on the phone with his lifelong friends, Gerald Butler, conversing about their love of cars and NHRA racing. Ralph Thomas (Dorothy) bantering about everyday life for hours. Those two friendships have lasted for over fifty years each. You could tell when he was on the phone with his brother, Ricky Watson as they discussed the Jacksonville Jaguar and Philadelphia Eagles which were his favorite teams, win or lose.

Fond memories will be kept in the heart of his wife Flora Foreman-Watson. Who cherishes the times they spend together.

Robert is survived by his wife, Flora Foreman-Watson; his children, Tonya Jenkins (US Navy Veteran), Tangela Brown (Carl), Chanel Watson (Mario), Burgandi Watson, Christina Simmons and Shana Kirkpatrick; his brothers, Ricky Watson, Allen Willaims, and Daniel Willaims; caregiver, Sharon Watson; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
