Rosia Lee Stewart, 81, a devoted mother, and the beloved matriarch of the family, was called from labor to reward on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Born on February 16, 1944, in Montgomery, Alabama.
Rosia attended the local schools of Duval County. She was an employee of Cathedral Tower for several years and Memorial Hospital for twenty-three years. Rosia was a faithful member of Greater St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Pastor’s Aide, Culinary, and Choir Ministry, until her health failed.
Rosia loved music and loved to sing, always staying behind the scenes with much prayer and support of the Progressive Youth Family and Friends Community Choir (Abundant Life Chorale).
As a mother of three, grandmother of one, Rosia was cherished by her close-knit family. She loved the holiday celebration gatherings and family events for special occasions. Rosia had a knack for remembering every birthday, anniversary, and important date in her family’s lives, never failing to make a call to let you know she remembered those special days and always saying “I LOVE YOU” at the end of each conversation.
Rosia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, James and Maggie Willey; brothers, William Fountain and Lotson Willey; sisters, Susie King and Wylenia Norris. She is survived by her children, Fredrick Jamison, Michael Mitchner and Kelvin Stewart (Dawn); her granddaughter, Auriyah Stewart; brother, Littleton Willey; sisters, Jeanie McCoy; two godsons; and a host of nieces, nephews, adopted children and many sorrowing friends.
Sarah L. Carter's Funeral Home Northside is serving the Family.
