Rozella Timmons Smith, age 79, of Jacksonville, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Rosetta or “Ro” as she was lovingly called was a long-time active member of Power of Faith Church.
Rosetta loved the Lord, and her Faith gave her comfort and strength during her illness. She kept detailed journals of sermon notes she took during services and other words of wisdom which showed her gift for writing. Rosetta grew up in Jacksonville and attended public schools here. She enjoyed shopping, listening to music and spending time with her family.
Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Mae Marshall, Jimmy Lee Marshall and Cleve Timmons; her son, Derrick Dixon; brother, Willie Timmons; and sisters, Emma Lee Timmons and Sally Ann Timmons Campbell.
Rosetta leaves to cherish her memories, husband of forty-eight years, Samuel Smith; sons, Anthony Dixon, Reginald McCray (Tina), Glennard McCray and Eric Timmons; daughters, Nicole Smith and Marilyn Chappell; brothers, Frank Marshall, Sr. (Relinda), Robert Lee Marshall (Lisa), Cleve Timmons, Jr. (Brenda), Andrew Timmons (Zettie), and Johnny Timmons; sisters, Fransella Hines (Daryl), Shirley Mae Timmons-Davis, Gloria Timmons Johnson and Tammie Timmons; sister-in-love, Geraldine Timmons; uncle, Arthur Riles; god-daughters, Rosetta Green and Consuela Wiggins; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her church family.
“Grace and Mercy. Thank God for everything. I am so glad he’s in my life and I hope He continues to be in my life. God protect me every day. Plead the Blood of Jesus.” (These are the written words of Sis. Rosetta Smith/Rozella Smith dated 01/01/2002)
