Ruby Peavie Obituary

Ruby Mae Green Peavie is the seventh child born to Osie and Daisy Session Green. She was born in Swainsbora, Georgia on February 28, 1944. Living in Swainsbora, Georgia. She attended Summer Town Public School and she fellowshipped at Noah’s Ark AME Church.

In 1954 the family moved to Jacksonville Beach, Florida there she attended #144 School and Douglas Anderson in Jacksonville. She fellowshipped at St. Andrew AME Church. Ruby was excited to work at the Beaches Carwash in her teen years. A few years later she decided to move to Cincinnati, Ohio.

While living in Cincinnati it was there, Ruby married Henry Peavie. She worked faithfully as a Janitor for over 25 years at Good Samaritan Hospital where she retired. It was soon after retirement she decided to move back to Jacksonville, and she became a Janitor at Sea Breeze Elementary School for 5 years until her health stared failing.

Ruby was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Peavie; parents, Osie and Daisy Green; her siblings, Marvin Green, Rosie Mae Green, Frank Session, Laura Green, Emma Green, Freddie Green, Daisy Anderson, Pearl Lee, and Martha T. Young.

Ruby leaves to cherish her memories, son, Lavale Green of Jacksonville Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Charlie Green of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Dominque Thomas and Alexie Thomas; one great grand, Amir Maynard all of Tampa, FL; one sister, Josephine Pitts of Jacksonville Beach, FL; two brothers, Isaac Green (Delores) of Atlantic Beach, FL and Jacob Green (Devonne) of Jacksonville, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
