Mrs. Sarah Angelyn Hendley was on born September 3, 1941 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Rev. Sarah E. Jones. She attended the local schools of Duval County graduating from Matthew Gilbert High School class of 1960.
Sarah was united in Holy Matrimony to W. C. Hendley on December 24, 1980. She worked in finance for Western Union and Bank of America where she retired. She was a member of Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully until she moved her membership to her final church home on May 30, 2010, Unity 3:16 Church.
Sarah A. Hendley went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 2, 2020. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rev. Sarah E. Jones; siblings, Kathleen Jones, Lindsey Jones and Nathaniel Jones; aunt, Rosetta Foster; uncle and aunt, Samuel and Juanita Bolden.
Sarah leaves to cherish her fond memories, her husband, Willie Charles Hendley; son, Charles Lavon Griggs (Cynthia); daughter, Vrinda W. Holmes; grandchildren, Charles Landon Griggs (Marconi), Cydni L. Griggs and Zavier Kornegay; great grand, Jamell L. McKinney, Jr.; sisters, Frances Watson (Larry), Evelyn Pass and Ida Ford; dedicated niece, Minyaun Walker; dedicated nephew, Amir Walker, Jr.; stepdaughter, Glynis J. Hendley; stepsons, Charles Patrick Hendley, Eric Hendley (Jessica) and Sean Hendley (Sandra); in-laws, Gloria Artley (James), Rudolph Hendley (Doris), Lillian Holloman (William), William Hendley, Richard Hendley, Magdalene Hendley, Shirley Hendley, Juanita Mobley and Anthony Hendley; sisters-in-christ, Dessie Morris, Anita Harris, Phyllis Bradley and Minnie Chandler; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
