Sharon McDonald Obituary

The Preamble: Today is a celebration of the life of Sharon Clark-McDonald. As we reflect on her life today, we must remember that God makes no mistakes. “He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he”.  Deuteronomy 32:4

A Time and A Season: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

A Time to Be Born: Sharon was born and raised by her mother, the late Annie Grace Clark. Along with her twin sister, the late Karen Clark, on September 25, 1969, in Jacksonville, Florida.  Sharon’s early childhood was spent with her mother, Annie, and siblings, Steven and Karen Clark. Sharon attended local primary schools and graduated from Jean Ribault High School.

A Time For Family: When Sharon lost her mother, Annie and her twin sister, Karen, it was her children, LeeShawn and KeyShawn McDonald, who kept her going. She adored her boys and cared for them in her loving way. When her grandchildren, Kryrie and Kimber McDonald, were born, they brought additional joy to her heart and life.

A Time for Employment: Sharon found two fantastic jobs that she loved. She was a crossing guard for Duval County Schools and also worked as a cafeteria worker at Oceanway Elementary School. Sharon was funny and would make many of her co-workers and friends laugh daily. She worked at Oceanway Elementary until her health deteriorated, and she was no longer able to work.

A Time For God: Sharon always had time for God. He was a huge part of her life. In Sharon’s mind, there was no other way for her to live without God. She shared her love for God through prayer and her aunt, the late Rosyland Ann Andrews-Hills. They spoke daily, and Rosyland would encourage Sharon to hold fast to her faith and continue to love God and her family, regardless of her illness.  When Rosyland died in February, Sharon felt a significant loss in heart.

“So, if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the Lord your

God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Deuteronomy 11:13

A Time to Die: Sharon died peacefully on Saturday, March 24, 2025, surrounded by family. She leaves behind to remember her everlasting love of family and friends, children, LeeShawn McDonald and KeyShawn McDonald; children’s Dad, Chung Lee McDonald; grandchildren, Kryrie McDonald and Kimber McDonald; brother, Steven Clark; nieces and nephews, Moniquie McDonald, Jasmine Perry, Jameka Clark, London Monroe, Tre’Shawn McDonald, Da’Quan McDonald, and Kamron Clark; aunts and uncle, Rosemary A. James, Waltina F. Andrews, Timothy J. Andrews, and June M. Andrews; and a host of cousins and friends.
