Born on October 15, 1979, to the late Raymond Brown and Faye Ackerman- Poythress in Newark, New Jersey. Shavon was named after the fictional character Siobhan pronounced “SHAVON” of Ryan’s Hope, an American soap opera.
Shavon was a happy radiant child, growing up in Newark. Shavon’s smile brought happiness and joy to all she encountered. Her early childhood education began in the Newark, New Jersey school system upon relocating to Jacksonville, Florida. Shavon graduated from Clay High School in 1997 and attended the University of Florida and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from University of North Florida. She was a dedicated member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
Shavon met and married Phrone Davis upon this union their beautiful baby girl Aysia Davis was born. Shavon later remarried Jumaane Muse, and a handsome baby boy Braylon Muse was born from that union.
Shavon worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield for over twenty years and was currently employed by United Healthcare as an IT Senior Product Analyst.
Shavon was blessed to have a second father, Martin Stubbs who was instrumental in her upbringing and step-father, Kenneth Poythress, Sr. who loved and played a significant role in her adult life. Shavon loved her family whether extended biological or not there was no distinguishing between them.
Shavon was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Brown; paternal grandmother, Catherine Brown; paternal grandfather, Edmond Brown; and maternal grandfather, Harrison Ackerman, Sr.
Shavon leaves to mourn her memory, one daughter, Aysia Davis (dad, Phrone Davis); one son, Braylon Muse (dad, Jumaane Muse); her mother, Faye Ackerman-Poythress (Kenneth); her second father, Martin Stubbs; sisters, LaQuiera Jones, and LaPorsha Juluke (Curtis); brother, Marquis Stubbs; grandmother, Bishop Blackshear; paternal aunt, Robin Pesce (Vincent); very special godmother, Reverend Dr. Julia Bogan and family (The Bogans); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends which were all very dear to her.
As we prepare for these moments, an irreplaceable abyss has been left in the hearts of our family. We all loved Shavon, but God loves her best!
