We honor the life of Sheatell Louise McGriff Crawford, affectionately known as "Beautiful." Sheatell's inner light held a glorious glow that reflected on the lives of others. She was a comedian at heart whose contagious laughter could fill a room and legendary storytelling brought joy to many.
Born on March 6, 1973, in Jacksonville, Florida, Sheatell made history as the first elected African American Homecoming Queen at Samuel L. Wolfson High School during the 1990-1991 school year. She later attended Florida A&M University (FAMU), a place she held close to her heart, where she became a proud member of Gamma Sigma Sigma. Sheatell proudly wore green and orange representing her Rattler pride with unwavering spirit. Her experiences at FAMU left a lasting impact that she cherished throughout her life. She carried that love with her always through stories, memories, and photos. Sheatell never missed a chance to share her deep affection for her Alma mater. She was, without a doubt, “A RATTLER FOR LIFE”.
Sheatell served as an Operational Manager where her impact went far beyond her title. She left an indelible mark on Concentrix and the industry for her unwavering commitment doubling as a life coach and therapist to those around her. Her office was a place of both laughter and guidance. There was never a dull moment, and every day felt brighter when Sheatell was near. She didn’t just manage operations, she uplifted lives.
On October 31, 2024, Sheatell was united in marriage to Dr. Robert Crawford, Jr. Together, they shared a passion for exploration and adventure, dedicating their lives to helping others and living their faith through community service, gospel sharing, and prayer. Sheatell possessed a deep passion for exploration, consistently seeking opportunities to discover new locations and appreciate the beauty of the world. Whether traveling by airplane, cruise ship, or car, she always embraced the chance to pursue new experiences. Together they journeyed extensively, cultivating memorable moments across the globe. Their travels not only showcased the diverse landscapes of the world but also reflected Sheatell's inspiring energy, joy, and love, which they shared in every destination.
Sheatell passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the age of 52. She was preceded in death by her mother, Georgia Mae Newton (living James); grandparents, George McGriff, Sr. and Mae Etta McGriff; and aunt, Terri McGriff surrounded by a loving family where she was a cherished member of the family and the world.
She leaves to cherish her legacy of adventure and memories , her husband, Dr. Robert Crawford, Jr.; daughter, Zoe Lovett; bonus daughter, Tamoi Moore (Fedner); bonus sons, Gabriel McGriff and Robert Crawford, Jr.; godchildren, Jimmond Moore and Stedman Moore; sisters, Nekisha Brown, Stephanie Brown, Virginia Anderson, and Shanon Ward; brother, Cobra Newton; aunts, late Terri McGriff - Brittany McGriff Family, Deborah Brown (Darryl) Family, and Lynette Henry (James) Family; uncles, Clinton McGriff Family, George McGriff, Jr. (Jeanette) Family, Phineshea Goggins Family, Shaquis Johnson, Jada Brown, Ruise Family, Steven Henry, extended family Pastor Gloria and Mr. Howard Anderson Family; with a host of nieces , nephews, cousins, and other relatives and many sorrowing friends who will forever hold her in their hearts. Her legacy of love and resilience will continue to inspire us all.
