Shirley H. Davis

Shirley H. Davis passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 2, 2021. She was born on April 5, 1947, to Johnnie and Lillie Faye Harris in Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended school at York Road High School, class of 1965 and continued studies a Fayetteville State University.

She met her husband Early B. Davis Jr., and had a son, Twann Davis. After some travel they settled permanently in Jacksonville, Florida. Shirley worked in healthcare where she met a few people that she considered family, Deborah Williams, a friend of thirty plus years continued their friendships with Shirley beyond her retirement from Aetna.

Shirley was a lifelong member of Power of Faith Church. She enjoyed the Fellowship, attending Church and Bible Study. She liked being outdoors, travelling back home to North Carolina for Thanksgiving to be with family and lifelong friend Linda Richardson, shopping, eating sweet treats and being surrounded by her son and grandchildren. She also enjoyed volunteering for Baptist Beaches Medical Center a few times per week.

Shirley was a wife and our beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Survivors include her son Twann (Robin) Davis (Robin); grandchildren, Marquis Davis and D’Shawn Davis; great-granddaughter, Leilani Davis; siblings, Randal Harris, Lynette Harris Withers, Harold Harris (Stephanie), and Bryan Harris; goddaughters, Deborah Williams and Shellie Dillard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Early B. Davis Jr.; sister, Bennie Jones and her parents.  Her family and friends grieve her loss but take comfort knowing Early B. and Shirley are together again.
