Stephen Johnson Obituary

Stephen Tyrone Johnson, 62 of Mason, Tennessee was called to eternal rest on Friday, May 14, 2021. Stephen (Steve) was born to Mary and Thomas Johnson, Sr. on August 27, 1958 in Mason, Tennessee.

Stephen gave his life to Christ at an early age at Greater Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Mason, Tennessee. Stephen graduated from Fayette Ware High School. He later joined the United States Navy and served his country for 15 years honorably as a Boiler Technician 9BT). After retirement from the Navy, Stephen was employed with JLL Properties for many years as a maintenance technician supervisor.

Stephen married the love of his life, Earnestine Thompson on March 21, 1988 and two handsome sons, Corderro and Medaris were born from this union completing their family. Stephen was an attentive, loving husband, good provider and great father. He taught his children by example of his kindness, work ethic and love.

Steve was known for his infectious smile and sense of humor bring much laughter with his jokes. He loved sports and enjoyed watching the Jacksonville Jaguars on television. Steve also enjoyed fishing and bike riding. Steve also admired antique cars and made a hobby of collecting antique model cars. His favorite past time was car shows.

Stephen was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Johnson; father, Thomas Johnson, Sr.; two sisters, Mary Malone and Juanita Hunt; and one brother, Frankie Carl.

Stephen leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Earnestine Johnson; two children, Corderro Johnson (Laurie) and Medaris Johnson; granddaughter, CayLiana Johnson; four brothers, Thomas Johnson, Jr. (Thelma), Larry Johnson (Gieneva), Roscoe Johnson (Anne) and Rickey Johnson; three sisters Gileanda Crenshaw (Charles), Sherry Johnson and Jacqueline Williams (Billy); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
