Obituary

Our beloved baby sister was born on December 31, 1967 in Jacksonville Florida to the proud parents of Mr. and Mrs. T.V. Chandler. Her untimely transition on May 13, 2023 has left an unimaginable void in our hearts.

Shaune’s journey through her breast cancer battle was met with extreme courage and exceptional faith in Our Lord and Savior. Her faithfulness and hopefulness never wavered. As she asked her medical team to get on board with her. She believed God had the final say so. Her hopefulness and prayerfulness were to return to her normal life, cancer free.

Being the youngest of nine siblings, our parents gave us the opportunity to name her, in which we did, naming her a modern day first name that she absolutely despised. Her babyish, introverted, witty personality was an advantage for her, as we all allowed her to “say what she mean and mean what she says” with an effective mild and meek tone like dad.

Shaune never mothered children, however she loved and adored them, as well as her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews were dear to her heart. Shaune’s love for her 95-year-old mom and mom’s love for her surpassed many. Life without our baby girl Shaune will never be the same and simply hard to understand, we will not lean to our understanding and believe in Psalms 34:18.

Shaune graduated from Terry Parker High school. She completed undergraduate courses in Marketing at the University of Florida and FCCJ. Shaune's professional experiences included, the City of Jacksonville-JFRD, as a Communication Officer, United States Postal Service as a Data Control Operator, BellSouth advertising & Publishing Company as a Sales Representative-Print and Internet Advertising and Cardon Healthcare/Med Data Inc as an Insurance liaison. Prior to her illness Kay introduced her to the DoorDash experience, while she attained certifications in the insurance industry. Shaune enjoyed reading, writing, bubble baths, “me time” at home, short visits with family and friends and assisting Mrs. Storey with the Children Church at Breakthroughs Church.

Shaune was preceded in death by her father, Mr. T.V. Chandler; brothers, Mr. Vernon Chandler and Mr. Marvin Chandler; sisters, Ms. Angelia Chandler and Ms. Betty Chandler; and special brothers-in-law, Mr. Wilbert Wiggins, Sr. and Mr. Harry Brown.

Shaune is survived by her loving mother, Ms. Marie Chandler; sisters, Ms. Delores Wiggins, Ms. Annie Marie Stevens, Ms. Paula Brown (Mr. Kite) and Ms. Gail Chandler; beloved nieces and nephews, Van (Tacarra), Wilbert Jr., Toosdai, Ke, Christy, Wiley (Hege), Nardia, Dee and Quynton; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends which includes, Ange, Doris, Debbie and Michael.
