With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Tammy Marie Cobb, who was born on March 2, 1966, and passed away on March 9, 2026. Tammy lived a life filled with compassion, dedication, and love for her family and community. For more than 30 years, she worked as a devoted Head Start teacher, where she touched the lives of countless children and families. She had a special gift for nurturing young minds and helping them grow, and she was known by many as someone who was truly exceptional at her job.
Teaching was not just her profession it was her passion. Above all else, Tammy cherished her family. She leaves behind her loving daughter, Asya Mathis, and her son-in-law, Darnell Mathis. She is also survived by her beloved brother, Billy Cobb, and his wife, Kimberly Cobb, along with her nephews, Billy Cobb III and Xavier Cobb. One of Tammy’s greatest joys in life was her grandson, Tawn Jr., whom she adored deeply and loved spending time with.
Tammy will be remembered for her warm heart, her strength, and the love she poured into everyone around her. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched as a teacher, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family, friends, former students, and the many people whose lives she helped shape. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
