Terrie Lee Jones, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, slept away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 62. Born on July 9, 1963, in Norfolk, Virginia, Terrie's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family, her dedication to her work, and her kindness to those in her community.
Terrie was the cherished daughter of Cotrell and Odessa Johnson, who instilled in her the values of compassion and hard work. These values shone through in her long career at Walmart, where she dedicated twenty-seven years of her life. Known for her warm spirit and customer service excellence, she touched the lives of many during her time there.
In 1995, Terrie married her soulmate, Lawrence Jones. She was blessed with five wonderful children, Robert Watts, Brittany Walker, Terrance Jones, Cotrell Johnson, and Terrie Cunningham. Her legacy continues through her six beautiful grandchildren, Ayanna Walker, Ava'I Walker, Jayden Lee Jones, Antonio Walker, Ahlani Walker, and Carson Lee Jones. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she reveled in every moment spent with them, filling their lives with love and laughter.
Terrie was preceded in death by her parents, Cotrell and Odessa Johnson, leaving behind a rich tapestry of family and friends who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence, her siblings Sabrina Barnes, Sherrie Jennewein, and Carla J., and her in-laws Rodney Barnes, Mark Adams, Antonio Walker, Paul Grad, Joyce Jones, Tina Jones, Mark Adams and Paul Grad. Moreover; nieces, Marcia Adams, LaCarla Adams, Jasmine Barnes and Candice Barnes; and nephews, Andre Turner and Paul Grad, II. Terrie leaves behind a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who grieve her loss deeply.
A devoted member of the Temple of The Living God Church, Terrie's life was a testament to her faith, which guided her through various seasons of life. She was known not only for her nurturing spirit but also for her love of shopping, particularly for bags. It was not uncommon for her to be seen with a radiant smile on her face, showcasing her latest find as she shared stories and laughter with those she loved.
Terrie had a special knack for caring for children. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her immediate family, as she often took the time to be a mother figure to those around her, offering support and guidance whenever needed. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
In her passing, we celebrate the life of Terrie Lee Jones—a woman who exemplified love, strength, and resilience. Her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Terrie will be profoundly missed, but the love she shared and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
