Timothy Perkins, Sr. Obituary

Timothy Leon Perkins, Sr. slept away peacefully at the hospital on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born to Al Perkins, Jr. (Ola Mae) and Terry Hall (Phil) on August 21, 1973.

He was educated in the Statesboro, Georgia school system, where he earned his high school diploma. As an adult living in Jacksonville, Florida, he pursued his career as a truck driver.

Among many of his admirable traits were his love and dedication to his family. He instilled family values in his children and lived to see the fruits of his labor. Tim was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, son, nephew, cousin, and friend.

He loved the Lord and worked in the church as a faithful servant and served as a Deacon. Tim’s testimony following his first bout with cancer in 2021, was told to any and every one that crossed his path. Tim had a gift for drawing people and no conversation ended until he talked about the goodness of the Lord and how the Lord healed his body. Even after the reoccurrence of cancer in 2023, he never stopped praising God about His goodness.

Tim also had a passion for the outdoors: hunting, fishing, horseback riding, coaching, etc. were indeed hobbies that he cherished.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Al Perkins, Sr. and Frances Perkins.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his devoted wife, Shenita Boyd-Perkins; daughters, Nireshia Hall (Devin), Timeya Fullilove (Terrance), Janay Young and Dominique Hinton; son, Timothy Perkins, Jr., and Jayden Moore; grandchildren, Damija Hall, Samia Hall, Timothy Perkins, III, Christian Fullilove, Kilee Fullilove, and Ja’Liyah Dock; parents, Al Perkins, Jr. (Ola Mae) and Terry Hall (Phil); three sisters, Tonia Perkins-Hall (Eric), Stephanie Perkins, and Rainey Perkins; two brothers, Al Perkins, III and Darrell Perkins (Dakota); special brother-in-law, Satrone Boyd; father-in-law, Felix Boyd, Jr.; mother-in-law, Gloria Pollard (Kevin); incredibly special friends, Vergil Stewart, Stanley Downer, Sr., and Abraham Gaines; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
