Mr. Timothy Leroy Hayward, Sr. was born on August 28, 1960 in Jacksonville, Florida to Vernon Gibson, Sr. and the late Mary Hayward. He attended the public schools in Duval County.
Timothy first met Sherry Curry in 1984, and they were married in 1998. Together, they have three wonderful children. Timothy was known for his outgoing personality, sense of humor, and his strong commitment to family.
Timothy passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Hayward; and his grandson, Jaron Duckett.
Timothy is survived by his devoted wife and lifelong partner, Sherry Hayward of over 40 years; their daughter, Timeka Hayward; two sons, Timothy Jr. (Terri) and Deangelo (Jessica); his father, Vernon Gibson Sr; and grandchildren, Kemari, Antaniya, Jontavious, Zariyah, Skylar, and Dejah. Additionally, he is survived by his bonus grandchildren, Tkeshia, Brandon, Tearah, Tiana, and Michael, as well as a great-grandchild, Amora; bonus great-grandchildren, Antonio, Anaijah, Ayden, Indigo, Braniyah, Brandon, and Brandy. He is also survived by his brothers, Tommy Hayward (Darcy), Michael Payton, Nathaniel Hayward, Vernon Jr., Lamont, and Jonathan Gibson; his sisters, Sharon Hayward and Carla Quarles; his aunts, Gloria Queen, Sandra McClendon, Marcia Jefferson and Maryann Demps; and his uncle, Johnny Demps; his mother-in-law, Gussie Smith; and sisters-in-law, Jacquelyn Wiggins, Julia Woods (Greg), Brenda Plant, Cassandra Williams (Lilton), Seanda Hines (Kenneth), Janice Curry, Joni Johnson (Glen), and Fredricka Curry also commemorate him. He was also remembered by his brothers-in-law, Coto, Keith, Fredrick, Derrick, Kenny, and Diangelo Curry. Timothy is fondly remembered by his close friends, Andre Mobley, Vincent King, Charles Cowart, and Todd Bryant, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who share in mourning his loss.
