Tyrae Marquise Mickens

Tyrae Marquise Mickens was born May 20, 2003 in Jacksonville, Florida to Aisha Edward and the late Steward Mickens. He graduated from Florida Virtual School and carried on to Blue Water Maritime School to pursue being a Merchant Seaman. He was successful in his endeavor and found himself becoming just that.

When Tyrae strayed off his path, he found himself giving himself to God and getting saved; he had a smile that could always put you at ease and make everything feel okay. He was loving and had an undying loyalty to those he considered friends and family. Tyrae was determined to do right by his daughter, Ireland Simone Mickens who honestly has the key to his heart. He was excited to finally experience fatherhood and meet his daughter.

Tyrae was different, he was a brilliant star, a real-life superstar. He was unique and if you knew him there would never be another Rae, the loyalty and devotion he showed was one of a kind.

Tyrae loved basketball and also attended a traveling basketball team. He also enjoyed wrestling and hanging with his family and friends.

He answered the Master’s call on Saturday, January 14, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Steward Mickens.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter, Ireland Simone Mickens; mother, Aisha Edward; siblings, Yoaida Edward, Tariq Thomas, Yexenia Mickens, Asia Mickens, Donovan Mickens, and Bubba; like a brother, Bright; girlfriend, Shakiya Singleton; special names, Bloo, Shaun, Ryan, Keith, and LJ; and host of other loving relatives and many sorrowing friends.
