Mr. Vaughan Cheyney Daughtry was born on November 3, 1956, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the third child born to the union of Mr. John Wesley Daughtry, Sr., and Mrs. Sallie Atkinson Daughtry.
He confessed Christ and was baptized at West Union Baptist Church, which he attended for many years. In 2005, Vaughan entered into fellowship with the Holy Scripture Tabernacle and he remained an active member.
Vaughan was a product of the public schools of Duval County (Fla.) and graduated from Terry Parker High School in 1974. He attended the University of Florida, where he majored in Computer Information Sciences. Ever a history buff, Vaughan thoroughly researched topics of interest, and enjoyed reading and participating in intellectual discussions. He was industrious and worked in the construction and security industries until he became disabled.
On December 18, 2025, God, in His love and tender mercy, saw fit to relieve Vaughan of the troubles of the world. Vaughan entered into eternal rest to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to be reunited with his late parents and brothers, CeciI E. Truesdell and John W. Daughtry, Jr., who also preceded him in death.
He leaves to mourn his passing but cherish his memory: one brother, Emery Jerome Daughtry of Jacksonville, Fla.; and one sister, Wanda Elaine Daughtry of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a host of sorrowful cousins and devoted friends.
