Willie Lee Edwards passed peacefully from this life at the age of 70 after a gradual decline in health. He was the proud father of Kevin Coleman, Quanetta Frazier, Willie Edwards Jr., Darius Edwards, Courtney Edwards, Shanae Lacy, Mia Edwards and Elijah Edwards. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Lillie B. Edwards; and siblings, Robert Earl and Carolyn Edwards. Willie was born in Butler, Alabama and raised in Jacksonville, Florida where he built a career as a skilled welder and machinist. He enjoyed catching fish, frying fish and eating fish; his passion was the sea. He will be remembered for his devotion to the ones he loved, his sense of humor and his resolve to live on his terms.
Willie leaves to cherish his memory siblings, Theartha Edwards, Clay Smith, James Edwards, Larry Edwards, Irene Caupain, Kim Harris and Carol Young; companion, Rita Lacy; a legacy of children and grandchildren; and a wealth of extended family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
Sarah L. Carter's Funeral Home Southside is serving the Family.
