Willie Robert Plummer, Jr. was born on May 28, 1948, in Miami Dade, Florida to Willie Robert Plummer, Sr. and Odessa Lee Palmer. He was raised in Jacksonville, Florida by his grandmother, Avie Jane Plummer and his aunt, Eddie Lee Sams. He attended William M. Raines High School class of 1966. Plummer’s love of music led him to participate in the school’s chorus.
After graduating high school, Plummer went to work for J. C Penny’s then entered the United States Marine where he served his country and received an Honorable Discharge.
While in Jacksonville, Florida Plummer were members of Breakthrough Faith Covenant Church, St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church where he sung in the choir, West Friendship Baptist Church and Temple of Grace Holiness Church.
Anyone who knew Plummer knew he had a love for decorating. He was a residential designer. He could make any event or theme come to life.
Willie Robert Plummer, Jr. departed this life on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Plummer, Sr. and Odessa Lee Palmer; grandmother, Avie Jane Plummer; and aunt, Eddie Lee Sams.
Plummer leaves to cherish his memories, his siblings, Avie Johnson (Roderick), Vincent Palmer (Loretta), Patricia Plummer, Melzar Hudnell (Bernard), and Timothy Plummer (Patricia); godsister, Maude Wall; goddaughter, Vanessa Jones; niece, Kristina Jordan (Celvin); nephews, Willie Davis and Ardray Davis; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
