Willie Timley, Jr. Obituary

Mr. Willie James Timley, Jr. was born on February 24, 1938 in Albany, Georgia to Mrs. Dora Boone and Mr. Willie James Timley, Sr. He attended the local schools of Dougherty County.

Willie went on to become a truck driver for Cypress Truck Line, Inc. and Ready-Mix Cement Company.

Willie was worshiping at Philippian Community Church until his health failed. He enjoyed fishing and being on the water. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren when he could.

Mr. Willie James Timley, Jr. passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his son, Melvin L. Hooks; granddaughter, Lakesha I. Hooks; mother, Dora Boone; father, Willie James Timley, Sr.; and siblings, Robert Brown, Mabel B. Brown, David Brown, Jr., Roosevelt Brown and Willie H. Brown.

Willie leaves to mourn his passing, but to cherish his memories, former spouse, Dorothy Timley; his children, Gloria Dillard (Charlie), Willie Timley, III, Gwennitta Timley, Darlene Gettis (Bishop John Sr.), Lequenten Timley (Amy), Latreasa Russell and Antionette Hooks-Alexander (Clifton); a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Elouise Brown; brothers, Augustus J. Brown and Eddie C. Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
