Yvonne Delores Evans was born on March 27, 1939 in Jacksonville, Florida to Rufus Graham and Victoria Graham. She received her education and was a proud graduate of Matthew Gilbert. She was employed by Duval County Public School Board, driving buses for 27 years.
Later in life she met the loved of her life, Oscar Evans, Jr. and was united in Holy Matrimony in 1968 until his untimely death on August 7, 2003. She accepted Christ at an early age and was faithful member of United Baptist Church since 1978 under the leadership of Reverend Willie Smith. She was a leader singer in Choir #1 and shared Christ’s love towards others until her timely death.
Yvonne Evans was affectionately called “Gran Gran” by her grandchildren whom loved her dearly. She was a fierce protector of her family and took great pride in being a mother to those she encountered.
Yvonne leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, Pennie Dickerson and Marva Nicholas; predeceased son, Marshall Dickerson; sisters, Mildred Smith, Jean Jones, Effie Slaughter and Alice Graham; brothers, Nathaniel Graham (Maggie), Eddie Graham (Carolyn) and Carl Graham (Tish); grandchildren, Demeatry Palmer (Lance) and Anthony Alexander; great grandchild, Diauni Platts; she also leaves to remember her life a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends and relatives.
