Alfred “Bundy” Upshaw was born in Hope Hull, Alabama on October 5, 1948 and educated in the Montgomery Public School. He entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 8, 2018. “God will keep me. It will be God. He loves me” is what he believed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ella Upshaw; brother, Charlie; and sister, Rosa.
Alfred learned the trade of Bricklaying which he loved at an early age and was a Master of the craft. He was a member of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Union Local 3 in Boston, Massachusetts. He received several awards for the intricate brick work done on various buildings in the city of Boston. He worked here in Jacksonville for two Masonry Companies for many years. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing and spent many hours on Nassau Sound fishing and sharing his catch with others.
He is survived by his brothers, William (Sallie) of Lynn, MA and Jimmy (Joyce) of Huntsville, AL; sister, Mary Jerman (Eddie) of Newark, NJ and Bessie Lawson (Elliott) of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Alfred was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
At the family's request they are requesting no floral arrangements to be sent.
