Amanda G. Walker was born on October 21, 1932 to the late James and Amanda Gardner in Tallahassee, Florida. She attended and was educated in the Leon County Public School System.
Mother Walker retired from Publix Supermarkets after 22 years of dedicated service. She was a faithful member of Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church. She loved taking care of others, working in her yard and cooking.
Amanda loved the Lord; she believed in serving and served as an usher. She was a dedicated Sunday School Secretary and was known as a quiet but firm disciplinarian. Her faithful saying was “Do not take my meekness for weakness”.
On Tuesday, December 11, 2018, God called Amanda G. Walker home to rest. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Amanda Gardner; child, Millard; siblings, Vivian, Norma, Horace, Theodore, Waldance, Harbridge and James Jr.
Amanda leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted children, Lonnie Jr. (Martha), Vernon (Cynthia), Alisa (Mark) and Gregory (Lakesia); grandchildren, Vernon Jr., Elizabeth, Vernard, Auz’Jay, Tyler and Lucas; sibling, Bernice Ferguson (Willie); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
