Floyd Johnson was born on May 12, 1961 in Orville, Alabama to the late Melvin Johnson and Teolia Hilton. He was the eighth of eleven children. Floyd was raised by his grandmother, Hester Holt.
Floyd was educated in the Alabama school system where he played basketball. Floyd moved to Detroit, Michigan right after high school.
He loved to BBQ, listening to jazz and the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. He was a hard worker and was very dedicated to his family and job and whatever he did. In 1998 he moved to Jacksonville, Florida and married his wife Yvonne. Together they started a commercial cleaning business. He was admired by his family, friends and co-workers.
Floyd was preceded in death by his grandmother, Hester Holt; mother, Teolia Hilton; father, Willie Johnson; and brothers, Freddie Lee Bennett, Jr. Luther Bennett, Lloyd Bennett, Earl Bennett and Sylvester Johnson.
Floyd leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Yvonne A. Johnson; children, Nicole Lynn Bell-Johnson, stepdaughter, Whittney Sanders (Deron), stepson, Wade S. Kingcade (Saterrica); grandchildren, Katelyn, Kenndi, Madison, Alexander and Chancellor; brothers, James Williams (Susan) of Cleveland, Ohio and Keith Johnson (Velda) of Hueytown AL; sisters, Bettie Smith (Aaron) of Sacramento, CA, Towanda Arnold of Macon, GA and Thomasina Roberts (Timothy) of Gainesville, FL; and also a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
