Welcome to the memorial page for

Ronald Parks

November 17, 1957 ~ May 5, 2018 (age 60) 60 Years Old

On May 5th, 2018, Ronald Parks, known to his friends as Ron, passed away at the age of 60. A native of Milledgeville, Georgia, Ron attended Baldwin High School and then eagerly joined the US Army. It wasn’t for the freedom of leaving home, however for the chance to help and provide for his family back in Georgia.

In the 1980s, Ronald received two humanitarian awards. One was for raising money for a German orphanage located in Giessen. The other was awarded to twelve soldiers, one being Ron, for saving a German boy that went through the ice at a lake and quickly performed CPR to revive the child.

In 1987 was the year that Ronald was gifted with a daughter, Amanda Richardson (Parks).  Amanda may have been the only blood born, however Ron helped raise and the father figure to Autumn DuBois, Curtis Lethco and William Lethco; children of Sandra Jelliff (Aspinwall) (previous wife).

In 1992 Ron moved to Florida where he began to touch the hearts of hundreds. He couldn’t walk through town without his peers stopping and greeting him. With laughter, friendship and the beautiful talent of welding, he has made his mark for years to come.

Ronald surpassed Winkfield Parks Sr., father, and Inez Clark, mother. He is survived by his daughter, Amanda (Donald) Richardson; granddaughter, Dominique Inez Richardson; grandson, Dwight Jordan Richardson; sisters, Cathy (Arthur) Parks, Shirley (Marion) Parks; brother, Sherry (Donna) Parks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends including devoted friends, Roger Morgan and John and Linda Juarez; a host of other relatives that may not be blood, however never changed the way he loved them.

Sarah L. Carter's Funeral Home Northside is serving the family.
