Pearl Gray

Pearl Gray known as Aunt Pearl departed this life at Orange Park Medical Center on Monday, June 25, 2018.

Pearl was born in Winnabow, North Carolina on February 20, 1953 to the late Michael and Luretha Prince. As a teenager she moved to New London, Connecticut where she graduated from New London High School in 1972.

As a young adult she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of Madry Temple Church of God in Christ. She married Herman Gray and to this union one son was born.

Pearl worked for Electric Boat Shipyard as a pipe fitter for 16 years before moving to Jacksonville, Florida. She became a member of Hopewell Church where she served faithfully until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Luretha Prince; brothers, Nathanael Prince, Melvin Prince and Robert Kelly; and sister, Louise Prince.

Precious memories of her are cherished by her husband, Herman Gray, Sr.; sons, Herman Gray, Jr. (Alzadia) and Michael Prince; beloved grandson, DeVonye’ and Darius all of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Lavern Kelly; and a host of nieces, nephews, church family, other relatives and friends.

She was extremely devoted to her family and will be best remembered for this.
